Description: Lovely 1894 Dutch Silver Amsterdam City Crest Spoon w Farm Scene Presented is a fine quality antique Dutch silver spoon, dated 1894. The spoon is made in a traditionally ornate design, with an apostle terminal above a very prominent Amsterdam crest, with the three X's in a shield supported by lions, all on a twist form handle. Above the bowl is a classical dolphin or fish and, interestingly, an upside-down figure. The bowl is round and features a nicely detailed farm scene. This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The spoon is stamped on the back of the lion supporter with the Minerva head assay stamp, on the figural finial with the date letter K for 1894 on the back above the bowl with the Dutch lion passant for 833 purity silver as well as the key shaped export stamp, and on the bowl itself with what are likely pseudomarks. The spoon is about 7 inches long. The spoon weighs 61.1 grams or 2.2 regular ounces -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
