Description: AUTHENTIC Antique c.1929 One of the best Louis Icart, French, (1888-1950) Etchings & Aquatint: LA COLOMBE BLESSEE ~ WOUNDED DOVE (Engl.) Features: Oval Color Etching and Drypoint Aquatint Printed à la poupée On Wove Paper With Hand Coloring, Louis Icart copyright with date 1929 Paris in plate above image, Embossed “Louis Icart Society” Blindstamp, IN PENSIL: numbered “321/500” and titled: Colombee Blessee in The Lower Left and Hand Signed by Louis Icart In Pencil In Lower Right Below Image. Louis Icart Raised Seal called a blindstamp, was created in mid-1926, and is usually found in the lower left corner, just below the image. The etching has a plate impression ( dent around the oval edge of etching) as an additional proof of it's authenticity. Title: "La Colombe Blessée"in French Framed with Glass Measurements approximately: Oval opening: 22 1/2" h x 18" w Image: 20 1/2" h x 16" w Total Size Framed: 33" h x 28 3/4"w Frame is about 2" wide x 1 5/8" thick Weight: heavy, about 13.5 Lbs before packaging.
