Description: Offered here is a lot of three engravings that are from a publication entitled Voyage Pittoresque, ou Description des royaumes de Naples et de Sicily, which was issued in five volumes over the years 1781-1786. These particular engravings appeared in the 1782 volume. Two sets appear to be by Noel Le Mire (1724-1801), a stipple engraver from France. One set of engravings is by the French artist, Charles Francois Adrien Macret (1750-1783). The images are frescoes that appeared on the walls in ancient Herculaneum. The dimensions of the engravings are variable. One example: height 16 inches (platemark), 19 1/4 inches (sheet); width 10 1/4 inches (platemark), 13 1/8 inches (sheet). These engravings are from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
