Description: Offered here are a lot of two (2) delightful genre lithographs of 19th century English village life. In one, The Cottage Maid sits smilingly on a chair (outdoors!), and in the other The Village Swain sits on a moss covered rock and offers a posey of flowers, presumably to The Cottage Maid. The lithographs were printed by Charles Ingrey, a British lithographer who was active from 1824-1839 and whose address was No. 310 Strand, London, part of which is printed on the right below each image. At a corner of each print there is further information, likely about the publisher, that I have been unable to decipher. In any case, the prints are charming ephemera from the past. These prints are from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
