Description: Lot of Matchbox Models Of Yesteryear - Vintage Model Cars. 1960s Lesney. (Please Note: All models are unboxed). This little lot of Matchbox Models of Yesteryear date from the 1960s and have all had just one owner. They were received as presents and have had lots of shelf life rather than regular play. They are complete and undamaged apart from the 1912 Simplex and the 1911 Daimler. All of them are the earlier versions with the distinctive stud fastening on the base and slightly bizarre range of paintwork and upholstery. All the models are diecast and plastic construction, with black tyres and gold-coloured pierced wheel hubs. 1912 Simplex. (Model Y-8): Green paintwork with red seats and a brown canopy. Canopy fits, has unbroken fastenings but has a missing broken strut. The seats are undamaged but loose fitting. Small paint chip to rear off-side mudguard. Turning wheels. 1911 Model-T Ford (Model Y-1): Red paintwork with black seats and a black roof. Unbroken roof fastenings. Small paint chip to the front nearside mudguard. Turning wheels. 1913 Cadillac (Model Y-6): Yellow/gold paintwork with maroon seats and canopy. Unbroken canopy fastenings. Turning wheels. 1913 Mercer Raceabout (Model No 7): Metallic lilac paintwork with black seats. Some wear to the 'brass' areas. Small paintwork chips along the running boards and mudguard edges. Turning wheels. 1911 Daimler (Model Y-13): Yellow paintwork with red seats. Missing black radiator grill insert. Small paintwork chips on the edges. Turning wheels. 1909 Thomas Flyabout (Model Y-12): Metallic blue paintwork with maroon-coloured seats and a brown canopy. Canopy fits and has unbroken fastenings. A few small paint chips on the edges. Turning wheels. The vintage model cars are in very good condition and have been in storage until recently. They were all owned by one person from new and there is very little age-related wear or play wear. There are some small chips to the paintwork on the edges of some cars - largely running boards and mudguards. The 1912 Simplex (Y-8) has loose seats and a broken canopy strut, and the 1911 Daimler (Y-13) has a missing radiator grill insert. The wheels and tyres are very good and all the axles are straight. There is a bit of dust in some of the tricky crevices! (See all photographs). Please note that all models are unboxed.
