Description: This is an interesting collection of four early 20th century autograph / friendship albums containing some high quality paintings and drawings by various hands comprising: i) Black leather measuring 16.5 x 10 cms, 1907-1909 with 6 superb humorous paintings and 16 full pages of verse in various hands, the binding weak but the interior bright, the illustrations good ii) Black leather measuring 10 x 13 cms, early 1920s, 6 pages of verse, a fine pen and ink drawing of Magdalen Bridge and Tower by D F Gillett, another of a churchyard signed K Mace and dated 1924 and a humorous portrait titled 'The Rascal' iii) Black leather, measuring 16 x 10 cms, WWI period, 15 pages of verse together with a fine watercolour of a spray of flowers initialled EP and dated 1916, one or two juvenille drawings in pencil, the spine cover damaged, the binding intact. iv) Another album in decorative card covers, early 1920s, worn, containing verse and juvenile cartoons.
