Later the paths of such intrepid adventurers as Jedediah Smith, Jim Beckwourth, Peter Lassen, Michael La Frambois, General John C. Fremont and General John Bidwell led through portions of this magnificent land of plenty. The complete story of California can never be fully told until the tales of the Feather have been recorded as they were actually lived. Some day that work will be done.
