Attractive 1/2 antiquarian leather binding, raised bands, gilt title lettering & compartment decorations, deckled edges, t.e.g. Nice floral devices in compartments, finely engraved frontis and half title. Volume 14 only of a larger set, however this volume complete unto itself. Beautiful early 19th century volume of Byron, offered as acquired due to scarcity, date and beauty of the object. Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Binding gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints slightly rubbed but still supple, remains overall very attractive as an object. Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, old strong stain in bottom gutter of primarily frontis and half title (visible in pic), internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in very nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
