Description: Longines Legend Diver 42mm LWC Modified L3.774.4.50.0 The revival Legend Diver has long been a favourite of ours in the Longines range, and is one of the originators of what is now an extremely popular trend of digging into a brands back catalogue and re-issuing modernised version of their classic pieces. Longines started doing this all the way back in 2007, and the watch they decided to pick was the legendary Super Compressor 7042 from the 60’s. While the OEM rendition is fantastic, Lewis Watch Co in Western Australia, renowned for their work on Vintage Omega, decided to take their hands to it and create something even more vintage inspired. They converted it to a no-date specification, removing the date wheel and associated parts, and modifying the set lever cover to ensure there was no phantom position on the crown. The dial was also replaced, as were the hands, and now feature a lovely ecru lume to add to its vintage inspired flavour. All parts removed are also included. It was originally purchased in 2019, and the modification works took place in 2021. It presents in TZ 'Near Mint' condition, with only very light hairlines and swirlies present, and a small rub mark on the left side of the case. See images for full condition details. It's mounted to a lovely Geneva Blue leather strap with OEM tang buckle, and also includes the original black textile strap. It's not had any service work performed since the modifications, and is currently keeping COSC time.
