Description: This is a classic aviator's watch, designed by Longines for the Czech Air Force. Most -but not all- were property-marked with the "Majetek" engraving on the back, which became an identifying name for this watch, although this one is not property-marked. It has been in my military watch collection for 15 years, purchased from another collector. The gold-plated 15-68Z Longines movement was serviced about seven years ago and is chronometer-grade and running well. The stainless steel 40mm case is in very good condition with the proper original crown and movable bezel pointer, seen here in the 12 o'clock position. This was a very large case in the 1940s era and looks great today. Included is a fine German "Juergens" 24mm strap in good shape. The original dial is matte black with nicely aged radium numerals and a sub-dial indicating seconds. These were fine watches in their day, but expensive, so much so that the Czech Air Force later switched procurement to similar watches by Lemania and Eterna, making the Longines versions the most collectible of the three models.
