Description: Lockheed P38-J Lightning in markings of 'Marge' in overall silver finish in 1/40 scale. This wood model has been pre-owned and displayed. I have taken many pictures from multiple angles for prospective buyers to determine condition showing minor flaws and missing small piece on the plane’s nose and tail. Model represented as deployed to New Guinea 1944 in the SW Pacific, as piloted by Major Richard Bong, a noted USAAF Pacific Theatre 'Ace' with 40 victories to his credit. This model features highly colourful 'nose art' to port side, including Bong's many victories, and relief portrait of 'Marge,' his sweetheart whom he later married. Bong was sadly killed testing the F-80 jet fighter in 1945. This limited model is solid wood and comes in silver overall finish with red flashes to wing and tail tips, and propeller cones. The model is believed to be dated in the 1960’s, however, it is unknown. Model comes complete with stand. Please study all the pictures alongside the description here, as what you see and as described, is exactly what you will get. The propellors turn and detach. I will take them out and will put them in a little baggie for shipping. About 13” long and 17” wingspan. NOTE: I will ship this as protected as I can for what I am charging for shipping. However, a built model is obviously fragile. I promise to take care with it in packing. Once you receive it, gentle remove it from the box and carefully unwrap it.
