Commissioned by the Easton Lions Club to commemorate their 50th anniversary, Pairpoint Glass plate number 145 was pressed in 1981 and is limited to 2,500 collectible plates. The design of the plate is an adaptation of the town seal, with shovels on the border representing the Ames Shovel and Tool Company of North Easton. Vintage Pairpoint Glass lead crystal cup plates are works of art that feature intricate designs and decorative elements not commonly found on modern glass. The artisan created a steel mold with hammer and chisel for each intricate design, and then hand-pressed molten glass into the engraved mold using an antique press. Each cup plate has the artisan's initials and the Pairpoint trademark embedded within the design.
