Desirable Passenger Set Here is a great set whether you want a neat 027 streamliner set to RUN or if you like to COLLECT. This is Lionel's Quicksilver Express, a clear Texas and Pacific styled train. It is blue and silver, it has the eagle logo on the front and the familiar looking T&P logo without it saying T&P in the middle but with wording in all the places around it where the city names go. So it Texas and Pacific or not? Our books treat t as such even though the actual name is not on it. It is a beautiful set that will always be T&P to me! The set was released in 1982-83. This one is the 1982 version. In 1983, Lionel issued a couple of weights with adhesive for your local service station to apply to help with traction. If wanted, most collectors just add weights themselves or tire weights on the inside of the base. The set consists of five pieces: a powered Alco diesel, a dummy Alco diesel and three illuminated passenger cars: Diesels: 8268 Texas & Pacific powered Alco FA-2 A unit diesel dark blue Type VI body; silver stripe and lettering "Quicksilver Express"; light blue eagle decal; blue and silver "T&P" styled logo on the front; red number boards; lighted; AC/DC Type III can motor; electronic three position reverse. 8269 Texas and Pacific dummy Alco FA-2 A unit; Quicksilver Express; operating coupler Quicksilver Express O27 gauge streamlined passenger cars: 7200 coach 7201 Vista Dome 7202 Observation FEATURES of passenger cars: illuminated, no silhouettes or window strips; silver lettering and stripes, operating couplers can handle minimum 027 curves The Set also came with 2311 Mechanical Semaphore kit (assembled here) Track: 8 curved ,4 straight track 50 watt transformer, blue This one works fine. Has a small crack on one side. If you would like us to replace, we will. LockOn Manual uncouper CONDITION: C-7 overall. Tested and works. Engines look real nice. The passenger cars all look great. The 7200 has some light scratches on top. The 7202 has a light white scuff on side. Track is used. Transformer has a small crack on one end (will replace it if you prefer different one).
