Description: This auction is for a signed hardcover 1979 edition of Dr. Linus Pauling's best-seller "Cancer and Vitamin C - A Discussion of the Nature, Causes, Prevention, and Treatment of Cancer, with Special Reference to the Value of Vitamin C", a fascinating book written by one of the most brilliant minds of the 20th Century. This book was personally signed by the famous double Nobel Prize-winning scientist (Nobel Prize for Chemistry 1954 and Nobel Peace Prize 1962). This book is in great condition for its age (see images), and was signed by Dr. Linus Pauling on the second page. This page has also a little bit of writing from the previous owner (see images). There is no other writing in the book, and it looks tight and unread. The book also includes the original letter on the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine letterhead, signed by Dr. Richard Hicks, the Executive Vice President of the institute. The letter is in great condition, but has some red underlining (see image).I've been collecting signed books for a long time and unfortunately I have to trim down my collection now.
