A new, even finer UHMWPE fiber now enables entry into this area. Type R is manufactured using very special braiding processes. The STROFT special braid made of, for example, 300x8 = 2400 individual fibers (type R12) creates an almost circular cord cross-section with an arrow-like dimple on the surface.
