Description: This wonderful, Limoges stamp box, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution, has "1789" and "1989" in 22KT gold, with symbols of France and the French Revolution, on top. A banner has "LIBERTE - EGALITE", the slogan of the revolution, and a red liberty cap, with a tri-color, cockade or circular emblem that showed support of the revolution, on it. In the center is a Gallic rooster, with a wide, gold border, and branches of laurel. The front has green scrolls, and gold, leaf stems are on the other three sides. The unusual and detailed clasp has spears, laurel and a liberty cap. Two compartments for stamps are inside. The rectangular box is 1.5" by 2.7" with a height of .8".
