Lilium kesselringianum is a large herbaceous 9-species in the Liliaceae family. Its native range is from northeast Turkey to the western Caucasus. There is no common name for this species. It grows naturally in alpine meadows or along the forests' edge and meadows. It is a rare and endangered species in its native habitat in the Caucasus Mountains. The seeds need a warm period to produce bulbs the first year, and nothing will come up. The first leaves pop up after three months of cold. It can grow to around 8-10 feet tall from a rhizome. The leaves are rosettes and lanceolate. The recurved flowers are approximately 4-6 inches in diameter, with each petal darker in the center, while the outer edges are lightly sprinkled with purple specks.
