Description: This French pitcher comes from the pottery town of Soufflenheim in Alsace, France. It has one of the very traditional patterns — a large slip-painted daisy. The background is a butterscotch yellow with some tiny scattered brown dots (most likely in the clay) and small age-appropriate crazing. Condition is very good — a few small glaze flakes on one side (smaller than a pea, 3rd photo down) and in the interior at the bottom of the collar,( 4th and 5th photo) and way down inside, a bit rough at the edge of the spout. Bottom has an impressed 2 (for 2 litre capacity). Dates from the mid century. Measures 8" tall x 8½" in diameter at the spout. Do let me know if you need more photos or have any questions. Problem? Tell me and I will do my best to make it right. _gsrx_vers_1608 (GS 9.5 (1608))
