Standard capacity flat boxes are very versatile for finishing flat and butt joints on walls and ceilings. Most finishers start with standard-sized boxes, as they are a little easier on the shoulders for ceiling work. When you get comfortable with them, you might want to expand your set with some MEGA capacity boxes for walls (less trips back to the pump!). Typically, the 10” box is used for the initial tape fill coat and then the 12” box is used for the final coat.
