Lea Stein's famous and much sought after Fox brooch is one of four of her designs featured in Secretary Madeleine Albright's book "Read my Pins" and exhibited in the exhibition "Read my pins: the Madeleine Albright collection" organised by the Museum of Arts and Design, New York in 2009. Secretary Albright used brooches to send messages to diplomats as a result of Saddam Hussein calling her "an unparalleled serpent"! This inspired her to wear a serpent brooch at her next meeting with him! After this she regularly used brooches to send messages to diplomats. The other three Lea Stein designs used by her for this purpose were the Tortoise, Bouba the Owl and Tom the Bear and all four brooches feature in Secretary Albright's book. In excellent pre-owned condition. Measurements : 9.5 x5cm I guarantee this is a genuine brooch by Lea Stein and handmade in Paris. Any marks on the brooch are a result of bad photography on my part for which I apologise. Please also realise it is extremely difficult to get an exact representation of colours. I have done my best!
