Description: Lawrence Namoki Seed Pot Description and Item Information Up for sale is this Hopi Pueblo pottery seed pot by the well known artist, Lawrence Namoki. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This carved, egg-shaped piece has a small opening in the bottom. Carved into the side, a musician is depicted. This piece measures approximately 3 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 2 1/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 3.8 ounces. This would be a wonderful addition to a collection of Native American Indian arts. Identification This piece is by the well known Hopi artist, Lawrence Namoki (1949-2020). The markings beneath are partially worn, but this is what they appear to say, "Lawrence Namoki Mystic Music." Namoki is known for his pottery with themes from Hopi myths and history. The age of this piece is not known. It is from an estate collection of Native American items. Condition The piece looks very good overall, with no cracks. It has minor wear. There are some some scuffs and tiny pits to the back side. There is a tiny flake to one of the sharp, carved edges. There also is finish wear to the dark coloration, including to the markings beneath. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.
