Description: Enjoy hours of laughter with this Laurel and Hardy Five Film Pack! This classic comedy duo brings their slapstick humor to life on film with their hilarious antics. The film format is a mix of Standard 8mm and Super 8, making it a perfect addition to any collection of vintage movies and TV. This includes a variety of films showcasing Laurel and Hardy's comedic talents. From their early works to their later, more well-known films, this silent collection is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. So, sit back, relax, and laugh your way through these timeless comedy gems. This set includes two Super 8 silent films:BIG BUSINESS (1929) - Perhaps Stan and Ollie's greatest and most representative short. The Boys are selling Christmas trees and doing about as well as expected. They encounter their greatest nemesis, James Finlayson, and the battle is on! Fans of WHEN COMEDY WAS KING will remember excerpts closing out that great compilation; here's the entire film!TWO TARS (1928) - Running a close second is this gem. Two sailors on shore leave rent a car, pick up two girls, and mayhem ensues! "Reciprocal violence" was a favorite L & H motif, and an entire crowd (including slow-burn master Edgar Kennedy) stuck in a traffic jam finds itself swept along for the "ride". This Blackhawk print is the special edition, featuring original main titles. The fight scene made up "A Comedy Classic" segment in THE GOLDEN AGE OF COMEDY; here you'll also see the first half (and again, James Finlayson gets the worst of it). These films are all Standard 8mm silent:SUGAR DADDIES (1927) - An early teaming, sort of, in that Stan (a lawyer) and Ollie (a butler) are working separately from each other. They're coming to the aid of client/employer James Finlayson (again!) who's facing a breach of promise suit. The whole thing winds up in a chase through an amusement park, which, like the cast, and like silent comedy, has long since vanished from our world.FROM SOUP TO NUTS (1928) - When Stan is asked to serve the salad "undressed", you can bet money what's coming next. The Boys are hired to fill in as servants at a high-class dinner party. The only "class" is a class in how to write the textbook on dinner-table sight gags. A banquet of running jokes, this film will be familiar to Blackhawk Films fans of the 70s as a regular half-price seasonal offering in many national magazines. BRATS (1930) - A silent version of the classic talkie comedy. Stand and Ollie enjoy(?) a game of checkers and pool, while babysitting their sons, who are about as trouble prone as their fathers. Large-size sets create the illusion that allows The Boys to portray their own kids. Great sight gags, and the anticipation leading to the closing gag does not disappoint!BONUS: As a freebie, I'm throwing in an 8mm print of HABEAS CORPUS (1928). This print is a bit beat up (missing the main titles, some singed frames from a projector jam. It's still projectable but needs a little TLC. Loving film as I do; I couldn't bear to throw it out.
