Description: This is a color folding map by Carte Taride of the Pyrenees area with an inset map of La Cote d'Argent. It was "Routier 22" one of 25 maps that covered the whole country. It's sturdy and easily folded because pieces of the paper map have been attached to the canvas with a bit of distance between them. The full title of the map series is "France Routier Taride indiquant les routes nationale numerotes, kilometres et les routes departmentales". These maps were published over a number of years, with slightly variant titles and increasing price. From others I've seen with this title and price, I think that this one dates from between the mid twenties and early 30's. At the bottom right corner, there's a printed "12-26", which could mean December, 1926. The map is lightly soiled and toned. There are also several small tears and holes at the intersecting fold lines. The map is about 38 3/4 inches by 28 1/2 inches and folds to 5 by7 1/2 inches.
