Description: This style of husking tool made long days of shelling corn easier and faster. A person would put 1 or 2 fingers through the loop and hold the peg in the palm of their hand. Then they would poke the pointed end in and under the dry husk and pinch the husk between the peg and their thumb. Then they could pull the husk away from the cob. This peg measures about 3.75" long. The leather strap looks to have been reused from an old shoe as there is stitching still on it. It is still pliable and not brittle and likely was a replacement strap when the old one wore out.
