Description: Late 1700s-early 1800s Osbornes of Birmingham 30 Hour Grandfather Clock English case clock with hand painted enamel dial with numerical numbers. Stamped “Osbornes Manufactor Birmingham” on reverse of date wheel. Osborne was a well-known Birmingham based maker of dials from 1772 until around 1813. The company is known for being the earliest manufacturer of painted dial clocks. The numbering of every 5 minutes on outer dial indicates the face dates to the late 1700s to early 1800s. Clock is in working order and chimes on the hour with strong sturdy replacement chain. Case measures 203cm high x 46cm wide and 24cm deep.
