Description: Dating to the late-1930’s, this double-shade pendant is a classic example of streamline design. It was produced by Silvray Lighting of New York, New York. A single light half-silvered bulb provides indirect light (directed upward rather than down). Light also escapes between the shades creating a beautiful visual effect. Sporting a 16" shade, this is the largest fixture offered by SilvRay. This fixture has been restored and refurbished and is ready for contemporary installation. The larger shade is aluminum and the smaller chrome plated steel. Both shades, along with the ceiling canopy, retain their original satin paint finish. The original porcelain light bulb socket has been refurbished with new. All wiring is new. Two 8-32 screws with polished nickel ball ends are included to assist with your installation. This fixture utilizes a single medium base half-silvered Edison light bulb. The long neck type bulbs originally intended are no longer manufactured to my knowledge, so socket a extender is required. A socket extender and the 40watt half-silvered large globe bulb used in the photos are included with your purchase. Approximate dimensions are as follows: Shade 1: 16" Diameter Shade 2: 9-1/2" Diameter Ceiling mount: 6" Diameter base X 17-1/4" High Total drop: 17-1/2" NOTED FLAWS: - The socket cup is very slightly wobbly but rights itself when hanging; - Some superficial scuffing of the bare aluminum edge of the larger shade; - Light scuffing on the finish of the ceiling mount base.
