Description: This fabulous chatelaine is large. 284 grams to be exact. The pieces are a mix of sterling, 800 silver and the small compact and purse are plate. I have scratch tested the chains and i do believe they are sterling from the blue they turned. This is one of those chatelaines that just keeps on giving. It’s such a joy to open each compartment. To find the original turn of the last century blotting papers! The little powder puff still with powder on it. And opening up the large purse to find the gilt interior and that inscription. A present for someone’s 25th birthday in 1912. Everything opens and closes well. And besides a possible cleaning this is in very good antique shape. But please see pictures and decide for yourself.
