Description: Fine Cast Metal & Patinated Neoclassical Table LampAnd Vintage ShadeSimpson, Hall. Miller & Co. RARECa 1900-1920 Early Electric Table lamp has a beautiful antiqued gilt finish and is in excellent condition. Columnar form with elaborate surface decoration on base and four feet.Lamp has four discrete heads of a Goddess or Female Deity surmounted by a bird. I believe they are evocative of Egyptian or Mesopotamian iconography. The reeded column emerges out of acanthus leaves and a floral wreath wraps its way up and around the column. The eight paneled Silk brocade shade with fringe is in very good condition. The lamp measures 30.75 inches tall including the simple brass finial cap(25 in. H to top of socket) & the shade is 17 in. diameter x 10-3/4 in. HBase of lamp is 12-1/4 in. X 12-1/4 in. measured diagonally. The lamp was re-wired some time ago and is fitted with a socket that accepts 3-way bulbs. Works perfectly. Weight, unpacked: 13 lbs., 4 oz. Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. was a cutlery and silver hollowware manufacture in Wallingford, Connecticut, founded in 1866.Items of this sort are extremely rare and possibly a one-off.
