Description: A large (approximately 27cm x 19.5cm) albumen photograph of cricket being played at the exclusive Hong Kong Club in 1873. The date is confusing because the ship on which the owner of the album travelled on didn’t reach Hong Kong until November 1874 (and left in January 1875). So, please bear in mind the year may be incorrect. The teams are a joint Royal Navy & Army team vs HK Club. As you can see, the teams’ members’ names are recorded on the blue paper. Please note that the blue paper is stuck to the photo. There are minor tears to edges and some fading around the edges. It is a large photo measuring approximately 26x19cm.
