Made of a hard wood (uncertain what type of wood - the graining on back is unusual), it features the single block print capital letter "F" and dates to the turn of last century or slightly before. This would have been used to set print for a sign, billboard or poster. Condition is very nice - it is a solid wood piece - minor age related wear with a tiny chip off the back edge of the block and a rub on the bottom of the point next to the green felt (added to protect surfaces when it was displayed standing).
