Description: This huge drum is 36" tall and weighs 34 lbs. 3 oz. The drumming sections are about 13x15". The exact measurements depend on where you measure, as the log varies in size where the branches grew. One side of the drum has a handle on the side, which I did not include in the measurements. It comes with a 15" handcrafted drumstick. The top rawhide looks like it was repaired or injured before it was put on the drum. The sound on the top is noticeably worse than the more booming sound from drumming on the bottom side. The bottom side also has wear around the edges. The wood has some flaws, most of which look to be from when it crafted. One side of the drum has a mark that looks like it came from a round wood file (pointed out in a photo). This is one of five large/extra large drums I have for sale that came from an estate that still had a big inventory from when they had a southwest decor store, selling drums, pottery, wood carvings, southwest prints, etc. Based on the style of everything, it would have been late 80's or early 90's. Each drum is one of a kind, handcrafted out of a hollowed out log with rawhide stretched over the top and bottom and tightened with rawhide strands. They can be used as drums, but are large enough to be used as unique side tables or stands for ceramics or sculpture.
