Description: THESE IMITATION COLORS >"HUES"< ARE COMPLETELY NON-TOXIC! This tube of oil paint is my take on natural ultramarine (Lapis Lazuli). Before synthetic Ultramarine Blue was developed in the 1800's artists relied on the genuine precious stone Lazurite to create this color. The hue you got from the stone depended on how much of the blue color was extracted from the stone. Unlike some of the hues that I make, you can still get genuine Lapis Lazuli on the market, but it is expensive. With my hue, I aim to get an earth-toned Ultramarine Blue that behaves and looks similar to the real thing for an affordable price.
