Description: LA LORRAINE (1899) She was built by Cie. Gen. Transatlantica, Penhoet, St. Nazaire, France for the French Line. She was a 11,146 GT ship with dimensions of 563'x60'. Twin-screw, 21 knots, triple expansion engines, two masts and two funnels.Launched Sept 20, 1899 and her maiden voyage was Havre-New York on Aug. 11, 1900. She had passenger accommodations for 446 first, 116 second and 552 third. Served as an armed merchant ship in First World War under the name LORRAINE II.
