Elis Kauppi (1921-2004) founded Kupittaan Kulta in 1945 in Turku, Finland and was one of the pioneers in Finnish modern jewellery. He is renowned for superb modernist design and high quality. The design is typical of his clean simple lines, and features the company's hallmark characteristics of understated design. The ring is stamped on the inner band with 925S and an anvil which was the hallmark for Kupittaan Kulta Oy and used between 1945 and 1997.
