We highly recommend that you give yourself at least 6 inches of extra strap length and then cut off small amounts of belt material (from the side of the strap that affixes to the belt buckle) until you reach your desired belt strap length. You should never cut off any belt material from the finished end that you feed through your belt loops. Also, please consider the inside-the-waistband (IWB) carry of all items that you intend to carry before cutting the strap to the final length that you think that you will need. You can always cut off more material, but can't replace it once removed. We also recommend using a brand new razor blade with a box cutter to make the cut, as opposed to a pair of scissors or a pocket knife. Simply score the belt at your desired length, then use a few more cuts to get through the entire belt. This method will produce the cleanest result.
