Description: Knickerbocker Dragnet Badge 714 Snub-Nose Dart Pistol 1950s Jack Webb Police TV Show Made by Knickerbocker Toys, N. Hollywood, Calif../Sherry TV Inc. Circa 1955. Plastic. Approx. 6 inches long. This all black plastic 6 inch long dart pistol has gold grips with Joe Friday’s “Badge 714 Sergeant Dragnet” cast into it. It is based on the long running 1950s-60s Jack Webb cop drama TV series “Dragnet”. The left side of the gun also says “Dragnet” in gold lettering. It was sold by Knickerbocker as part of the “Official Dragnet Target Set No. 643” in 1955.This gun has some finish loss on the gold grips (see photos) but is otherwise in great shape with no cracks or breaks. Sorry, but I have no Knickerbocker darts to offer but this gun takes the 3-1/4 inch long short plastic darts, found in other Knickerbocker sets. The spring is intact and the trigger moves so I believe it is functioning.A great piece of classic TV memorabilia.Very Good condition Note: Grid in photos is made up of 1 inch squares. This TOY is NOT a replica gun and does not fire dangerous projectiles BUT even so, eBay has required I add this disclaimer: This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug.
