Description: THESE IMITATION COLORS >"HUES"< ARE COMPLETELY NON-TOXIC! King's Yellow is the synthetic version of orpiment. Think Lapis Lazuli vs Ultramarine Blue. Same concept here. King's Yellow was a finer grain, more saturated version of Orpiment, which was eventually replaced by Cadmium Yellow due to being slightly safer and easier to produce. Currenty genuine King's Yellow is virtually impossible to find, although Orpiment remains moderately accessible. King's Yellow is a transparent canary yellow color with a beautiful saturation. "All my colors are handmade with only the highest quality pigments and cold-pressed linseed or walnut oil. My professional oil colors are all formulated to be lightfast, non-toxic, durable, and affordable imitations of The World's Rarest Colors. I have studied the colors that I recreate extensively to achieve this goal. Each color looks and behaves similarly to its historical counterpart but without the downfalls of the originals. Made for artists by an artist!
