Description: This is a beautiful example of a silver Tetradrachm of the Kingdom of Thrace. Thrace was founded by Alexander’s Bodyguard, Lysimachus. This coin is from the Lampsakos mint. It features a deified Alexander the Great on the obverse adorned with the Horn of Amun (the head deity of the Egyptian pantheon), and a seated Athena on the reverse with her shield and winged Victory perched on her arm. The surfaces of this coin aren’t the greatest, which is why the price is so affordable compared to other examples with prettier surfaces. Even with the slightly porous surface, the details preserved on this coin are fantastic. Don’t miss on a chance to own a highly sought after Ancient coin like this one!
