Description: Here we have a down 'n dirty postpunk classic from Midwest sludge dealers KILLDOZER: God Hears Pleas of the Innocent, a CD unleashed by the mighty Touch & Go label back in 1995, now long out of print in all formats. These guys were easily one of the grossest, sleaziest bands ever hacked up from the crusted lungs of punk... and that IS intended as a compliment, by the way. Imagine if the Birthday Party relocated from Australia to the Rust Belt, moved into a trailer park and started copping song ideas from stories in The Weekly World News. Killdozer's music is a lumbering punk-blues, propelled by the head-ringing thunderthud of drummer Dan Hobson and sliced to ribbons by the freaky guitar shards of Paul Zagoras... then crowned (one might say "clobbered senseless") by the bellowed vocals of bassist Michael Gerald, who conveys all the finesse of a drunken wrestler ranting about the grudge match he lost last week. To hear these jokers yowling through their truck drivin' tribute "The Buzzard," is to be transported to a truly greasy Nirvana. And the presence of the much-missed Steve Albini in the production seat ensures that the results will hit your skull like the wrath of Jehovah. Nope, they just don't make 'em like Killdozer anymore, and our civilization is the poorer for it. Even worse, their entire Touch & Go catalog is currently doing time in Deletion Limbo. Don't miss the chance to get your large intestine rocked by the Big Thud of Killdozer! This CD is near mint.
