He is a former Army swordsmith and the 23rd generation of Fujiwara Kanefusa, which has been around since the Muromachi period. Before WWII, he was selected and won a prize at the Imperial Exhibition, and after the war, he received a sword technique presentation, special selection, and excellence award.
