Description: This 1968 German import stereo release from Deutsche Grammophon (643 201), Karajan in Rehearsal, is a 1963 recording of Herbert von Karajan rehearsing the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (on Side 1) for a performance of the last movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony (on Side 2). Featured performers include Gundula Janowitz (soprano), Hilde Rössel-Majdan (alto), Waldemar Kmentt (tenor) and Walter Berry (baritone), accompanied by the Wiener Singverein (chorus) and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Please note: Maestro von Karajan speaks in German, not English, throughout Side 1.This record is in a plain black album and plain white inner sleeve, as found, with a handwritten collection note on the cover (see Photo 1) identifying the disc inside. There is no other documentation.Covers seen elsewhere for this disc, DG 643 201, are entitled "Karajan in Rehearsal," but the disc itself is labeled "Karajan at Rehearsal" (Photos 1 & 2)The outer sleeve has no printed markings and no damage.
