Description: The London Museum covers the history of the city from prehistoric to modern times with a particular focus on social history. The Museum of London was formed in 1976 by amalgamating the collection previously held by the City Corporation at the Guildhall Museum, founded in 1911. The museum has the largest urban history collection in the world with more than six million objects. Its collections include archaeological material, such as flint hand axes, marble statues and a cache of Elizabethan and Jacobean Jewellery. Modern collections include large amounts of decorative objects, paintings, prints and drawings. [Research included] Offering a ledger, 8 ¼ x 11 ¾, 50 pp, all in manuscript, listing hundreds of artists and their artistic works, catalogued by the museum. The ledger appears to be from 1976 when the museum was formed. The artists listed along with the titles of the paintings and prints date from the 1700s through the early 1900s. In blue covers with light soiling. Otherwise excellent condition. Everything we sell is guaranteed authentic forever to the original buyer. We also offer a 30-day return policy.
