Description: Here is a set of 2 prints (out of an original set of 8) by the artist JOSEPH KOSSONOGI - from the LANDSCAPES OF ISRAEL portfolio, issued in the mid-1950s. One print is dated 1954, the other 1955. These are black-and-white lithographs, measuring 13" x 9 1/4". The print images are fully intact but there is some fading and foxing (more notable on the print on the left side of the main photo). The set was issued by Joshua Chachik Publishing House Ltd. - included here is the original printed foreword by D.A. Friedman and a List of Drawings from the original set - I'm not sure which ones these are. There is also fading and some edgewear on the text pages. Joseph Kossonogi (1908-1981) was born in Budapest, Hungary and settled in Tel Aviv in 1926, remaining in Israel for the remainder of his life.
