Description: This is an original handcolored engraving by Joseph Jacob Plenck, from “Icones PlantarumMedicinalium”, published in Vienn, between 1788 and 1803. Icones Plantarum cataloged 700 engravings of medicinal botanical species, in both Latin and German. This is Laurus Camphor, engraved on hand laid, water marked paper that can be seen in the last photo.It is in very good condition, with the plate marks measuring 12.25”x 7.25”, with the full sheet measuring 18.25”x 12.5”. It lightly attached at the top, and is matted, on what lookslike all new acid free materials. I will be listing more Joseph Jacob Plenck engravings.
