Description: Up for bid is a beautiful photogravure intaglio print by the acclaimed American artist JOSEPH CORNELL. The print, UNTITLED (Landscape with Figure) was published by Brooke Alexander Editions (NYC), and comes from the 1972 portfolio Prints for Phoenix House. Other artists included David Hockney, James Rosenquist, RB Kitaj, Adolph Gottlieb, Ellsworth Kelly and Alex Katz. Executed on a sheet of BFK Rives woven paper measuring 19.5" x 14.875"; plate size measures 13" x 10". The print is in excellent original condition; Colors are fresh and the sheet is void of any bends, scuffs or stains. Unframed with minor adhesive residue from previous hinges to the top margin verso as shown. The edition size is 125 copies with 20 APs, and this is 24/125 as shown. This print represents one of the final artworks created by Cornell, as the artist unexpectedly passed away during its production. Hence, the edition was never hand signed as planned, and instead issued an estate stamped signature and Phoenix House chopmark as shown. The back of the print is further notated in blue ink RMA (Richard M Ader - Executor of the Cornell Estate), as shown. Authenticity guaranteed.
