There is little information available for this artist but he is known to have studied in 1894 at the Higher Institute in Antwerp and an apparent newspaper article of 24-10-1914 (NWE Rotterdam Courant) states that he registered as a refugee in Rotterdam. This fine etching is bright and unfaded, with excellent black ink lines and has super detailing and drypoint burr, the image size measuring approximately 18 cm x 25 cm (7 x 10 ins.) within a strong platemark and impression on a wove paper sheet, size of 23 cm x 33 cm( 9 x 13 ins.) Signed in pencil with the edition 7/50 in pencil in the lower margin.
