Description: John Van Der Sterren (b. 1938 The Netherlands), "Pangandaran Marketplace", 1996.Medium to large in size taking a spatial footprint of 38.5" wide X 34.5" tall.Artwork itself is an oil painting on canvas, and the piece is in overall very nice condition.Gold wood frame is looking very nice with really no wear to make note of, although very very minor wear might have the slightest possibility to be found if sought out.My apologies for any lighting glares, reflections, or shadows you may see in the photos... John van der Sterren is a Dutch/New Zealander, born in Sukabumi, West Java in 1938. His earliest years were spent on a tea estate, 60km from Sukabumi, where his father was the ‘Administrateur’, prior to World War II. After World War II, during which his family were interned in concentration camps, his parents decided to immigrate to New Zealand, and eventually became New Zealand citizens.
