Aged fifty, he opened his own workshop in Copenhagen, where he most actively worked in 1950-70s. He retired in 1980s due to his health problems, and died 20 September 1984. Traditionally, the designer created jewelry in Art Nouveau, Modernist, or classic style using sterling silver. Many of his designs include subjects from nature, hand forged with exquisite craftsmanship and amazing realism. John stamped his decorations with oval shaped signature Sterling John L. Denmark. High quality materials and workmanship make these rare vintage pieces collectible and sought after by lovers of vintage jewelry. The Danish silversmith John Lauritzen produced beautiful Danish Modern jewelry in Copenhagen from 1955 to 1981.
