Description: Dos Passos, John - Orient Express - Harper & Brothers: New York, 1927 - First Edition / First Printing / First State Binding - “First Edition” on the copyright page as required in order to denote the first printing of the first edition. First state binding with mauve paper covered boards and a blue cloth spine. The book has sunning to the edges, tiny tape tabs to the tips, offsetting internally and some scattered shelf wear. The boards remain straight, the label on the spine is clean and not chipped, the binding is square and firm, and internally there is no writing or other markings. All of the tipped in illustrations are present and in very nice condition. The dust jacket is soiled and rubbed with some light chipping. There are numerous areas where it has tape mends visible. All in all a still presentable example of this rather uncommon title. A collection of travel essays covering Dos Passos’ time in Batum, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. Illustrated color reproductions of paintings by the author. One of reportedly only 1000 copies of this title in the correct first issue binding. All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy. All books which are in dust jackets will be mailed with a clear archival dust jacket protector fitted. Shipping costs can be combined if multiple purchases are made. Items will be packaged and shipped within one business day unless otherwise noted. Please always feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
