Description: Vintage original autographed 8" by 10" photo of actor Joe Besser. The photo has a tear at the bottom right, has edge wear along the right hand side, a small piece of paper missing near the top right and what looks like a crease from a paper clip at the top. The black paper on the back looks to be remnants of this photograph onve being glued into photo album or frame backing board. Beautiful signature and inscription. I recently purchased a collection of autographed photos all inscribed to Arlene. I believe she was a dancer on stage and in film. I ship only once a week, usually Saturdays. Please be patient. Joe Besser was born on August 12, 1907 in St. Louis, Missouri. Short, chubby, balding, childish character actor who began his career on the vaudeville circuit before breaking into films in the early 1930s. He was a frequent foil ofBud AbbottandLou Costelloin their films and played Stinky on their 1950s situation comedy. Joe joinedThe Three Stoogesin 1956, appearing in 16 films with Moe Howard & Larry Fine. He spent the 1960s appearing in numerous films and television series, including 88 performances onThe Joey Bishop Show (1961)and a regular role as the voice of Babu on the animated seriesJeannie (1973). Joe Besser died at age 80 of heart failure on March 1, 1988 in North Hollywood, California.
